Rahul Dravid gifts Eugene Levy a personalised RR jersey
On Tuesday, the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals, already out of the playoffs with two matches still left to play this week, shared a video on their Instagram showing coach Rahul Dravid gifting Eugene Levy a personalised pink RR jersey with ‘LEVY’ written on it. In return, the Hollywood A-ler looked visibly surprised, revealing that he is a fan. Dravid greets him and says, “Now that you are a Royals fan, we have a special gift for you.” Eugene cups his cheek in shock and looks at the jersey in awe, and Dravid goes on, “Hopefully, you will wear this with pride while watching our game.” Eugene replies, “Oh yeah, look at this! I’m a Royals fan—my first cricket team, and it will always be my first cricket team.” He then thanks Dravid for the honour.

The video was shared with a caption referencing the popular show that Eugene Levy is best known for. The Rajasthan Royals Instagram captioned the video: “ just got real! Eugene Levy is a Royal.” This is a fun nod to the character of Schitt’s Creek, where Eugene plays Johnny Rose, a wealthy but down-on-his-luck businessman.
“What is this crossover?!” tweeted one fan, while another said, “Is this a parallel universe? Johnny Rose supporting RR before GTA VI!” Some joked that Eugene’s character was now literally going from a “schitt” situation to something much grander, with the pink jersey fitting right in with his. “Wait what!! When did Mr. Rose come to India?” Another wrote in surprise. “Just Rajasthan getting more and more international fans.”

On the other hand, after spending six decades in the showbiz world, Levy has not ruled out the possibility of continuing his work further. He is currently hosting the third season of travel show The Reluctant Traveler on Apple TV+.
