‘In France, they only have PSG, everyone else is finished’: Criano Ronaldo reiterates Saudi Pro League is better than Ligue One | Football News
Al Nassr player Criano Ronaldo recently reiterated his stand that the Saudi Pro League was better than the French Ligue One. The superstar had made the same claim in January of this year as well, saying that the SPL was more competitive than its French counterpart.
“The Saudi Pro League is better than Ligue 1, of course. I’m not saying that because I play here. I don’t care what people think about it. Players should come here and they will see quickly. Just try to do sprints at 38, 39, 40 degrees…,” Ronaldo said at the Globe Soccer Awards on Friday.
“Come and you will see. If you don’t believe me, come. In France, they only have PSG, everyone else is finished. Nobody can beat them because they have the most money and the best players,” he added.

In the same ceremony, Ronaldo on Friday weighed in on the decision to hand the men’s Ballon d’Or award to Manchester City’s Rodri, saying Brazil and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. deserved to win instead.
“In my opinion he (Vinicius) deserved to win the golden ball. It was unfair, I say it here in front of everybody,” said the Portuguese captain, who has won the award five times.
“I really love the way they do their career, (Jude) Bellingham, Lamine (Yamal) now, this young generation, Vinicius, they do a fantastic job,” Ronaldo said.
“They gave it to Rodri, he deserved it too but I think they should have given it to Vinicius because he won a Champions League.”
