In a major blow to India’s preparations, batter Shubman Gill suffered a thumb injury during fielding in a match simulation in Perth, ahead of the first Border Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia next week.
According to reports, Gill injured his thumb finger while taking a catch in the slips during India’s second day of match simulations at WACA.
The first Test is slated to began at the Optus Stadium in Perth on November 22, Friday.
