IND vs ENG match does not have a reserve day, so what happens if T20 World Cup semi-final is washed out? | Cricket News

IND vs ENG semi-final: There are some concerns about the fate of the India vs England semi-final, which will be held at Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday.
If weather forecast for Guyana is to be believed, there is a chance of rain interrupting the IND vs ENG game, which is to take place at 8 pm (10:30 AM local time).
What happens if the IND vs ENG match is interrupted?
Both the semi-finals will each have additional time added in order to complete the match which will total 250 minutes, according to the playing conditions.
For the first semi-final on June 26, 60 minutes will be available at the end of the day’s play with the remaining 190 minutes scheduled for 2 pm on June 27. Whilst the additional 250 minutes for the second semi-final scheduled on 27 June will be utilised if needed through extended playing hours on the scheduled day itself.
For the semi-finals and final, a minimum of 10 overs have to be bowled to the side batting second, subject to a result not being achieved earlier. Since the first semifinal was a night game local time, a total 60 minutes of extra time were allocated to the scheduled day. The total additional playing time for the reserve day of semi-final 1 was 190 minutes. On the other hand, the playing conditions state that there shall be a maximum of 250 minutes allocated to the scheduled day of semi-final 2, with no reserve day.
What happens if the IND vs ENG match is washed out?
If there is a tie, and weather conditions prevent the Super Over from being completed, or if the match is abandoned due to weather or for whatever reason the IND vs ENG game is a no result, then the team that finished first in its Second Round Group (Super 8) will progress to the Final.
This means, if the IND vs ENG game is a no result, India will progress to the T20 World Cup final.
