IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli’s brother dismisses fake news circulating about their mother | Cricket News

With Virat Kohli missing Indian cricket team’s first two Tests against England in the ongoing five-Test series, there have been plenty of rumours swirling around about why the Indian cricket team talisman chose to skip the two Tests.
Neither the player, nor the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have given a reason for why Kohli is skipping the first two games besides a short line in the press statement that read: “Virat Kohli has requested the BCCI to be withdrawn from the first two Tests of the upcoming Test series against England, citing personal reasons.”
In the absence of a definite reason, there has been plenty of interpretation and conjecture about why Kohli could be missing and what his “personal reasons” could be.
On Wednesday, the former India captain’s brother Vikas posted a short statement on social media to debunk rumours about their mother.
“Hello everyone I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom’s health been circulating around Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine. Also I would request everyone and also the media, not to spread such news without proper information. Thanks everyone for your concern,” Vikas said in the post, shared on his Instagram handle.

Without Kohli in the side, India lost the first Test to England 28 runs in Hyderabad. Debutant Tom Hartley took 7-62 as England completed an extraordinary turnaround: the hosts held a 190-run lead in the first innings, scoring 436 in reply to England’s 246. But in the second innings, chasing 231, the hosts collapsed from 42-0 to all out for 202 runs in 69.2 overs.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan has gone as far as to say that if Kohli was captaining the Indian team in the first Test, they would have never lost the way they did.
For the second Test in Vizag, India were dealt two fresh blows with KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja being ruled out due to injuries.
