As an international fixture returns to the frosty Dharamsala, here is a look at India’s record at the venue:
India has only featured in one Test at the venue, against Australia in 2017. Besides the red-ball affair, India has played three T20Is (two wins, one loss) and five ODIs (three wins, two losses) at the ground. Summary of India vs Australia Dharamsala Test in 2017
In a tantalising series, India and Australia were locked level at 1-1 after three Tests before the inaugural Test fixture in Dharamsala. The hosts were dealt a further blow on the morning of the match when then-skipper Virat Kohli was ruled out of the match, effectively handing Ajinkya Rahane his maiden Test as captain.
Australia opted to bat first with captain Steve Smith leading the way with his third century of the series. However, Smith had limited support from his teammates as Kuldeep Yadav picked up four wickets as India bowled out Australia for 300. In reply, fifties from Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara helped India to a 32-run lead with Nathan Lyon grabbing a five-for.
