India vs New Zealand, 2nd Test, Day 1: How nothing was happening for most of the day, then Washington Sundar happened
A gripping first day of the second Test between India and New Zealand saw the hosts take control with a strong bowling performance. Despite a solid start from the visitors, India’s spinners, led Washington Sundar, bundled out New Zealand for 259 runs.
The day was marked a slow and steady pace, with few boundaries and wickets falling at regular intervals. India’s bowlers, led Sundar, applied consent pressure on the New Zealand batsmen, forcing them to make makes.
Despite the challenging conditions, New Zealand’s top order showed resilience, with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra batting cautiously. However, India’s spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Sundar proved too much for the visitors, taking crucial wickets at key moments.
