IND vs PAK: Shoaib Akhtar lauds Rohit Sharma’s majestic 86-run knock | Cricket-world-cup News

Former Pakan bowler Shoaib Akhtar lauded Rohit Sharma for a majestic 63-ball 86 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.
“The kind of innings he played, he humiliated Pakan’s bowling attack. He took revenge for the last two years when he didn’t get many runs. Good to see Rohit Sharma back, he did right to smash the bowlers. What’s the need to finish the game at the last overs and take it deep? Rohit hammered the bowlers,” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel. Most Read

During his innings, Rohit also surpassed 300 ODI sixes. Some of the shots played the Indian skipper on the night were breathtaking. He pummeled the Pakani bowlers to all parts of the ground and made Pakan’s 191 look even smaller.

India didn’t even let Pakan come close to changing anything.

“Disappointing performance… a very disappointing performance. Today, India completely hammered Pakan. Rohit Sharma was a one-man army. I don’t know where was Rohit Sharma in the last couple of years. He is a very big player and has a wide range of shots. He is a complete batter, a complete team,” Akhtar would add.

The former Pakani pacemen also questioned the balance of the Pakan team as he said, “What did Pakan think playing four batters, no middle-order, no spinners, no nothing.”

The win was India’s eighth in the 50-over global event, where Pakan had never been able to match their neighbours in terms of skill, strategy or execution since 1992. With the win India stayed unbeaten in the competition while Pakan faced their first defeat after two back-to-back wins in Hyderabad.
