IND vs SA: Virat Kohli flew back to India for ‘personal emergency’ in family; Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out | Cricket News

Indian cricket team talisman Virat Kohli had flown back to India in the middle of the series against South Africa due to some personal emergency in family, it has been learnt.
While the nature of the emergency was not clear, the prolific batter, however, will be back in time for India’s first Test match against South Africa in Centurion, which starts from December 26.
News from South Africa is that Kohli had asked for a break of two days from the Indian team management. He missed the three-day intra-squad game currently underway in Pretoria.
Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the Test series due to a fracture to his finger which is likely to take him five weeks to recover from. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is likely to name a replacement today for Gaikwad.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury to his finger during the second ODI against the Proteas at Port Elizabeth on December 19.
