India at Asian Games 2023, Day 10 schedule: Ruturaj Gaikwad and Co in action; more medals on offer in athletics, Lovlina Borgohain eyes final | Asian-games News
The track and field contingent were always tipped to bring in a lot of medals for India at the 19th Asian Games and it has proven to be the case so far. On Tuesday, more medals can be expected with plenty of finals lined up.
Men’s decathlon is going to be a fascinating event to track where Tejaswin Shankar enters the second half as the leader but has some less-fancied events coming up. The second session is filled with finals action, where you can keep an eye on Vithya Ramraj in women’s 400m hurdles as she looks to break PT Usha’s long-standing national record, after having equalled it on Monday.
Badminton: PV Sindhu begins her campaign
It has not been an easy year at all for Sindhu but she has a chance to add some gloss to it if she can make another deep run in Hangzhou. The 2018 silver medall has a tough ask to return all the way with An Se Young likely waiting in the semifinal but she can make a push for the bronze.
Boxing: Lovlina eyes a spot in the final
After Nikhat Zareen’s unexpected defeat in the semifinal, onus is now Lovlina Borgohain to try and ensure India will have representation on the top of the podium in boxing. More than that, a semifinal win is needed for her to earn a Paris 2024 quota spot. She will also be joined Preeti and Narender in semifinal action.
