India at Asian Games 2023, Day 3 schedule: Shooters in contention to add to medal tally; Bhavani Devi in fencing action and more | Asian-games News
On Day 2, the gold rush began for Indian athletes. Men’s rifle shooting team and Harmanpreet Kaur and Co in cricket opened India’s account in the first column of the medal tally. On Day 3, attention will once again be on the shooting contingent primarily. There are medal events potentially lined up in judo and cycling later in the day based on how the athletes perform in the early rounds.
For a young athlete, Manu Bhaker has already been through a lot in her career. Highs and lows, both. A highly decorated athlete at just 21, Bhaker will have a point or two to prove in Hangzhou where she takes part only in the 25m pol. Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan will be in team medal contention as well as individual. Medalls already in Hangzhou, Divyansh Singh Panwar and Ramita will be vying to add to their and India’s tally in the 10m air rifle mixed team event.
Volleyball: An India-Pakan clash awaits.
A consolation match but a potentially exciting one between India and Pakan, who both regered some good results in their run to the quarterfinals.
Men’s Hockey: India vs Singapore
In the hockey, it’s fair to say there is not a lot to test Indian men’s team at least in the early stages. Even in Harmanpreet Singh’s absence, India scored 16 past Uzbekan. Singapore, who lost 0-11 against Pakan already, will face a stern test in this Pool A fixture.
