India at Paris Olympics 2024, Day 11 schedule: Neeraj Chopra enters the stage; India vs Germany in hockey, Vinesh Phogat in action | Sport-others News

August 1 witnessed heartbreaks aplenty for the Indian contingent but August 5 might have take over that mantle for India’s toughest day at the Paris Olympics. Lakshya Sen missed out on a bronze, as did the mixed team skeet pair of Anant Jeet Naruka-Maheshwari Chauhan. Then Nisha Dahiya bowed out in tears.
With the wrestling draw for 50kg also coming out, it emerged that Vinesh Phogat will be taking on reigning Olympic champion and 4-time senior world champion Yui Susaki in the first round on Tuesday.
But of course, a new day starts with new hope as Neeraj Chopra – along with Kishore Kumar Jena – will begin their campaign with qualification in men’s javelin throw. Neeraj will be hoping once again for a one and done. All athletes meeting the Qualification Standard (Q) of 84m or at least 12 best performers (q) advance to Final.
