Just three years and one day after his incredible gold medal at Tokyo 2020, Neeraj Chopra will be back to defend his title in Paris. This time around though the field promises to be packed with potential contenders for the podium, and the competition promises to be close.
Also a little over three years after their famous bronze in Tokyo, the Indian men’s hockey team will have to pick themselves back up after a semifinal heartbreak, to get ready for another 3rd-place battle. Spain stand in their way.
Wrestling action continues with Aman Sehrawat and Anshu Malik, while golfers Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar will look to keep themselves in the mix in golf.

Like he did in Tokyo, Neeraj finished top of the qualifiers pile, regering an impressive 89.34 with his first and only throw. As the reigning Olympic and World Champion all Indian eyes will once again be on the star athlete.

Both Aditi and Diksha started their first rounds really well, before a couple of costly late errors saw them slip up. Still, with Diksha 1 under per, and Aditi on par, they remain in the mix as golf action enters 2nd of 4 rounds.

India’s only male wrestler in Paris has big boots to fill. After Ravi Dahiya’s silver in Tokyo, Aman will look to bring some cheer back to the Indian wrestling contingent.
