India at Paris Olympics 2024, Day 15 schedule: Wrestler Reetika Hooda in action, golf comes to a conclusion with Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar | Sport-others News

Slowly but steadily, India have inched closer to the Tokyo medal tally in Paris. Aman Sehrawat’s superb bronze medal in the men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling made him youngest ever individual Olympic medall from India at 21 years 0 months and 24 days. He bettered PV Sindhu’s record, who was 21 years 1 month and 14 days old when she won silver at the Rio Olympics 2016.
On Friday, India’s track and field events came to a close. There could have easily been a final to look forward to, but the men’s 4x400m relay team missed out on a spot a whisker, originally finishing fifth in their heat that was then upgraded to fourth.
Now, India’s hope of a 7th medal falls on Reetika Hooda in women’s 76kg wrestling. Especially after the golfers had a forgettable outing on Friday.

GOLFWomen’s Individual Round 4: 12.30 pmAditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar
Aditi Ashok finished Round 2 with a 1-under par overall, recovering after a poor start with a series of birdies. Diksha Dagar is also 1-under Par overall. The top three however started to pull away so both Indians need extraordinary rounds to put themselves in contention.

Aman did well to ensure India’s first wrestling medal and it kept a streak going that started back at Beijing 2008. Now the last Indian wrestler in action will take to the mat.
