India post highest-ever T20I total from a full-member nation, amass record boundaries in an innings | Cricket News
Falling just three runs short of what would’ve been only the second instance of a team crossing the 300-run mark in a T20 match, India posted the highest-ever score amassed a full-member nation in the shortest format during the 3rd T20I against Bangladesh.
Powered a maiden T20I century from Sanju Samson, a fifty from the captain Suryakumar Yadav, and entertaining cameos from Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag, India posted 297/6 from their 20 overs in Hyderabad.
It falls only behind Nepal’s 314/3 against Mongolia during last year’s Asian Games in Hangzhou. The previous second-best outing in a T20I for a team had belonged to Afghanan, who scored 278/3 against Ireland back in 2019 in Dehradun.

Whereas, in all of T20s, Sunrisers Hyderabad had taken the spot behind Nepal after they pulled off 287 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore during this year’s IPL. That was until Sunday, when Suryakumar Yadav and Co took the Bangladesh bowling to the cleaners.
Having won the toss and opted to bat first, India lost Abhishek Sharma in the third over. Samson then combined alongside the skipper to add 173 runs for the second wicket – the third-best partnership for India in the format.
