India schedule for ICC World Cup: Fixtures l and venues for India matches | Cricket-world-cup News

Hosts India will be favourites entering the 2023 World Cup and will start their campaign against five-time champions Australia in Chennai. The last time the tournament was held in the sub-continent in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh under the captaincy of MS Dhoni India lifted the trophy after 28 years.
This time around under Rohit Sharma the expectations from the fans would be the same. Coming into the tournament the Men in Blue are in stunning form winning the Asia Cup 2023 and outplaying Australia in the three-match ODI series and winning it 2-1. Another big positive for India is all the players who are making a comeback into the side are looking in good touch and have had sufficient game time ahead of the showpiece event.
However, the World Cup is a long tournament where Rohit’s men will play a round-robin league. Across nine venues India will face all the other remaining nine teams in the tournament. The hosts have to finish in the top four to reach the semi-finals of the tournament. It is a similar format to the one played in 2019 where India lost to New Zealand in the semifinals in Manchester.
