India squad for Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025: Jitesh Sharma named captain; Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Priyansh Arya named in 15-man team | Cricket News
The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) senior men’s selection committee has picked the India A squad for the Asian Cricket Council’s (ACC) Rising Stars Asia Cup to be held in Qatar.
India T20I wicekt-keeper Jitesh Sharma has been picked to lead the 15-member team with a bunch of youngsters named alongside in the team. Punjab all-rounder Naman Dhir has been named his deputy.
Playing his first T20 since the IPL 2025 season for Royal Challengers Bengaluru a couple of days ago in Hobart, the 32-year-old Jitesh made an instant impact with his unbeaten 22 leading India to their first win in the five-match series against Australia. Jitesh had a prolific run during RCB’s victorious campaign earlier this year, scoring valuable lower-order runs at a strike rate in excess of 176.

Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi who has set the domestic and age-group charts on fire has also earned his maiden call-up into the India A set-up at only 14 years of age. IPL 2025’s breakout star, Priyansh Arya, has also been named in the squad.
The emerging stars tournament will be played from 14th to 23rd November 2025 at West End International Cricket Stadium in Doha. India A are placed in Group B alongside Oman, UAE and Pakan A.
