India T20 World Cup Squad Live Press Conference updates: Rohit Sharma, Agarkar to address media soon; Rinku snub in focus | T20-world-cup News

T20 World Cup 2024 India Squad Live Updates: Indian Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma and Chairman of Senior Selection Committee for BCCI Ajit Agarkar will address a press conference on Thursday, May 2, at the BCCI HQ in Mumbai to discuss the 15-member Indian team which has been picked for the T20 World Cup in Caribbean and the USA next month. At the press conference, Rohit and Agarkar are likely to explain some of the most-talked about decisions that led to the 15-member team being picked for the marquee event.
One of the most contentious decision has been omitting Rinku Singh from the side. Another talking point has been the selectors reposing their faith in both Rohit and Virat Kohli, which seems to discard the Indian team think tank’s template of going for younger players.
The team also will have under-fire Hardik Pandya as the vice captain.
Meanwhile, in the battle for the second wicket-keeper, it was Sanju Samson who earned the nod over KL Rahul, while Rishabh Pant has made a comeback to the Indian team after almost fifteen months. The wicketkeeper-batter had been out of cricket since his horrific car accident in December 2022.
NOTE: All teams are allowed to make changes to their squad until 25 May, after which any alteration will require approval from ICC’s Event Technical Committee
