After Kajol’s ‘expiry date for marriage’ comment, Ajay Devgn says unconditional love possible for pets: ‘They won’t ask for anything’ | Bollywood News

Ajay Devgn and Kajol have been married for over 26 years now. Like most couples, they too have seen their ups and downs, and continue to be together. Ajay, in a recent interview, said that the younger generation sees the idea of love more casually than his generation, and added that the word has been “overused” so much that it has lost its meaning.
Ajay was accompanied R Madhavan as they spoke to the YouTube channel of BookMyShow to promote their film De De Pyaar De 2. When asked about the interpretation of love today’s generation, Ajay shared, “From where I see, it has become more casual than what it was. The word love has been used so much unnecessarily that it has lost its meaning. In our generation, you reached a point where you said ‘I love you’. Before that, it was whatever it was, ‘like you’ or whatever. But I think, right now, people don’t understand the depth of that word so it has been overused.”
Madhavan endorsed Ajay’s thoughts and added that even when they had to sign a card with the word ‘love’, they took it seriously. “Now every message has a heart emoji with it. All messages just end with ‘love’,” Ajay added. Madhavan continued that ‘love’ has become “very casual” now and said that in the present time, one can only compare it to the love they have for their pets. “There was a great amount of satisfaction in getting your love at one point of time. I really hope the younger generation can feel the kind of comfort we felt when we were in the company of someone we loved,” he said and added, “Nowadays, you can compare that to the crazy love you feel for your pets, which is unconditional. I wish you could feel it for another human being.”

Ajay was quick to interject and said that this was “not possible” as pets don’t ask for anything in return. “The problem is that you love your pets because you know that they won’t ask for anything in return,” he said.
Kajol, on the latest episode of her show Two Much, said that marriages must come with an expiry date so one is not obligated to continue the partnership. “What says you will get married to the right person at the right time? So, you should have a renewal option. And if there’s an expiry date, then we don’t have to suffer for too long,” she said.
In an earlier interview with Mashable India, Kajol said that “partial deafness and selective amnesia” is the secret to a happy marriage.
