Indian embassy in Philippines extends condolences to families of earthquake victims

The Embassy of India Wednesday expressed its deepest condolences to the families of those affected the earthquake in Philippines that claimed at least 69 lives, as per Reuters.
Taking to X, the embassy said, “The Embassy of India extends its deepest condolences to the people affected the earthquake in the Cebu province and to the government and people of the Philippines.”
“Our thought and prayers are with all those impacted the earthquake,” the embassy added.

At least 60 people have died and several injured in a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu province in central Philippines late Tuesday.

The tremor, set off a local fault, cut power and forced residents to evacuate homes.
The epicenter was about 17 km northeast of Bogo, a coastal city of about 90,000 people, where at least 14 residents died, disaster-mitigation officer Rex Ygot told AP.
