China details how Beijing tackled air pollution, compares air quality in Delhi and Beijing | World News

China has offered to release a “bite-sized series” on social media about how Beijing tackled air pollution as the country acknowledged “shared struggle” with India against air pollution amid rapid urbanization.
Yu Jing, spokesperson for the Chinese embassy in India, shared pictures on X comparing air quality in Beijing and New Delhi. Jing added that the challenge to tackle air pollution is complex but China with “sustained efforts over the past decade have delivered noticeable improvements”.
In a post on X, Jing said, “Both China and India know the struggle with air pollution amid rapid urbanization. While the challenge remains complex, China’s sustained efforts over the past decade have delivered noticeable improvements.”

The Chinese spokesperson further added that a new series is starting on social media which will be focused on tackling air pollution and how Beijing was able to tackle air pollution.

In a post on X titled, ‘How did Beijing tackle air pollution’, Jing laid down a few steps which details how China controlled rising air pollution and wrote, “Cleaner air doesn’t happen overnight but it is achievable.”
The step one for tackling air pollution as mentioned in the Chinese spokesperson’s post is “vehicle emissions control”. In a bullet point format, Jing laid down various steps taken Beijing in controlling air pollution with regards to vehicular emissions.
