An Indian national was fatally stabbed in Rockland, near Ottawa, the Indian Embassy in Canada confirmed the incident on the social media platform X Saturday.
According to the statement, the local police have detained a suspect in connection with the attack, and the motive behind the assault has not yet been disclosed.
The High Commission of India in Ottawa expressed deep sorrow over the incident and stated it is in close contact with the victim’s family. “We are deeply saddened the tragic death of an Indian national in Rockland near Ottawa due to stabbing. Police have stated that a suspect has been taken into custody. We are in close contact through a local community association to provide all possible assance to the bereaved kin,” the Indian Embassy in Canada wrote in X.
