‘India’s daughters are in pain’: Sakshi Malik’s emotional plea to international fraternity

Rio Olympics bronze medall Sakshi Malik has appealed to the international fraternity to extend their support to the protesting wrestlers. The agitating wrestlers have demanded the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Singh who, they alleged, sexually harassed several women grapplers.
The wresrtler says at one hand our Prime Miner is inaugurating our new parliament, while on other our supporters has been arrested for supporting us.
“To all my international fraternity. Our Prime Miner is inaugurating our new parliament. But on the other hand, Our supporters has been arrested for supporting us,” she tweeted.

Vinesh Phogat has echoed the views of her fellow wrestler.
“Democracy is being murdered openly at Jantar Mantar. On one hand the Prime Miner has inaugurated the new building of democracy. On the other hand the arrests of our people are on,” she said in a video posted on her social media accounts.

Earlier, Tokyo Olympics gold medall and three-time former world champion Risako Kawai has come out in support of the top Indian wrestlers.
The wrestlers protesting at the Jantar Mantar, about two kilometres from Parliament, said that they will go ahead with their “Mahila Mahapanchayat” near the new building at any cost.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police has made it cleared that the protesting wrestlers won’t be allowed near the new Parliament building, which is set to be inaugurated Prime Miner Narendra Modi.
“We respect our athletes but we will not let there be any durbance in the inauguration (of new Parliament building),” Dependra Pathak, Special CP, Law & Order, Delhi Police told PTI.
