India’s Deepika Kumari wins sixth Archery World Cup Final medal with silver in Mexico | Sport-others News

Indian archer Deepika Kumari won her sixth World Cup Final medal on Sunday night. Kumari won the silver medal in the Archery World Cup final with a 0-6 loss against Chinese Li Jiaman in the final in Tlaxcala, Mexico.
In the semis, Kumari edged out Tokyo Olympics mixed team bronze medal and Paris Olympics women’s team bronze medall Alejandra Valencia of Mexico 6-4. Kumari had scored a 6-0 win over Chinese Yang Xiaolei in the quarters.
Incidentally, both the Koreans including Paris Olympics individual champion as well as mixed team and women’s team champion Lim Sihyeon and women’s team gold medall Jeon Hunyoung failed to enter the final. Sihyeon suffered a 4-6 loss against Valencia in the quarters while Hunyoung suffered a 2-6 loss against Valencia in the bronze medal match. Kumari had earlier won four silver and one bronze in World Cup Final in her career.
Meanwhile, Li won the World Cup final on her first attempt, a tournament which features the top eight archers in the season in contention.
“The first match was relatively tense and the last two felt like a little bit more of a challenge,” Li told World Archery on her differences in between matches. “I was still doing my best but I wasn’t as nervous as I was in the first match.
“I was just trying to get the best arrows out. I wasn’t thinking too much about winning or losing.”
