Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi team up for the first time in Karan Sharma’s film Bhool Chuk Maaf. The makers unveiled the trailer of the film on Thursday, giving audiences a glimpse into a time-loop comedy set against the backdrop of Varanasi. The film revolves around Rajkummar’s character, who finds himself stuck in a frustrating time loop.
The trailer opens at a police station where the lead couple – played Rajkummar and Wamiqa – are caught after eloping. The police officer suggests their families get them married, as both are adults. While Rajkummar’s family readily agrees, Wamiqa’s family puts forth a condition: the wedding will only happen if Rajkummar secures a government job. This sets Rajkummar off on a religious and spiritual journey, visiting temples and making vows to fulfill his wish. Eventually, their parents agree to the wedding.
But Rajkummar’s problems aren’t over yet as he finds himself trapped in a time loop. His haldi ceremony keeps repeating – again and again- never leading up to the actual wedding, leaving Rajkummar frustrated and the audience in splits.

The film boasts a stellar supporting cast including Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, Ishtiyak Khan, and Anubha Fatehpuria, who add to the film’s quirky and emotional appeal. Sharing the trailer on social media, Rajkummar Rao wrote, “Titli hai Ranjan ka pyaar; par haldi par atka hai uska sansaar,Toh dekhne zaroor aaiyega inki kahaani with parivaar. Get ready for a bhasad wali shaadi where everything goes wrong…”
Produced Maddock Films, Bhool Chuk Maaf is set to release in cinemas on May 9.
