King Charles has expressed his deep sorrow and sympathy following the incident during Liverpool FC’s Premier League victory parade on Monday, calling the incident “truly devastating” in a message shared on the official social media channels of the Royal Family.
“My wife and I were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the terrible events that took place in Liverpool,” the King said. “What should have been a joyous celebration for so many ended in dressing circumstances,” he added.

The King offered his thoughts and support to the people of Liverpool, acknowledging the city’s strong sense of community. “At this heartbreaking time, I know that the strength of community spirit for which your city is renowned will be a comfort and support to those in need.”
He also extended his gratitude to emergency services and others who responded quickly to help the injured. “Our prayers and deepest sympathy are with all those who have been affected, and my special gratitude goes out to the first responders, emergency services personnel and other individuals who rushed to the aid of the injured.”
