Influencer shows Amitabh Bachchan’s staff with Diwali gifts of Rs 10,000, sweets outside Jalsa; internet says, ‘He could do better’ | Bollywood News
Days after Indians worldwide celebrated Diwali with much fervour, a video has surfaced online revealing how Bollywood’s Shahenshah, Amitabh Bachchan, purportedly showed his gratitude to his staff on the occasion. In the clip that has since gone viral on social media, a content creator can be seen disclosing the gifts the superstar dributed to his staff during the festival. While one section of social media lauded Bachchan for his gesture, many others criticised him upon learning the amount he allegedly gave each person, which they felt was nominal.
The video begins showing the content creator standing outside the actor’s Juhu residence Jalsa and revealing the box of sweets one of the staff members received. It appeared that he stopped a young man, who purportedly works for Bachchan, as the latter was leaving Jalsa. After showing the sweet box, the staff member also reveals that the superstar gifted him Rs 10,000. As he walks away, another person holding the same sweet box can be seen joining him while checking his wallet and tucking it back into his pocket.
While some appreciated Bachchan’s gesture, it did not sit well with others. “10,000 se kya hoga (What can one do with 10,000),” one Instagram user asked, as another person pointed out, “He could do much more for sure.” “Meri baai ki salary 13,000 hai to wo Diwali ka bonus bhi 13,000 le kar gayi hai (My maid’s salary is Rs 13,000, and she took home a Diwali bonus of Rs 13,000),” another netizen commented.

However, another Instagrammer wrote, “When someone gives something, we must appreciate it. You are not going to lose anything here, so let’s appreciate even the smallest gestures of such persons. It’s not mandatory to give money. So, if somebody did, let’s appreciate it. However, we only know how to criticise.”
Although the video appears to have been shot outside Jalsa, Bachchan’s Juhu residence, it’s unclear whether the people in it were indeed the actor’s staff.
