Diljit Dosanjh is currently busy with the shooting of his upcoming film Border 2, and the actor-singer has been sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses from the film’s shoot on Instagram. On Wednesday, Diljit shared a new behind-the-scenes video and it looked like Diljit is already in talks for his next Hindi film, No Entry 2, despite the ban he is facing from Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). Diljit was banned from working in Hindi films FWICE after he released his film Sardaar ji 3 featuring Pakani actor Hania Aamir.
The latest video shared Diljit starts with his trademark voice as he narrated his day on the set of Border 2. The video featured Ahan Shetty, Varun Dhawan, and the film’s director Anurag Singh. Mona Singh was also seen fangirling over Diljit. The clip showed her talking in Punjabi, “I asked the director whether I have a scene with you or not? The whole world is going mad after you.”
After this, he shared a clip featuring director Anees Bazmee and producer Boney Kapoor. Diljit wa spreviously announced to be a part of No Entry 2 but after he was banned FWICE, there were reports suggesting that the cator had exited the film. Diljit said in the clip, “Anees Bazmee is narrating me a story.” He even called Anees “his favourite director” in the video. It is unknown if the video was shot before Sardaar ji 3 controversy started in June.
After the release of Sardaar ji 3’s trailer, which featured Hania, the Indian cine bodies were quite upset tht Diljit had decided to work with a Pakani actor. All artes from Pakan were banned from working in Indian projects after the Pahalgam attack. This led to the ban on Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor-starrer film Abir Gulaal. However, Diljit and his team stated that they won’t be releasing their film in India, but continued with the international release. They explained that the film was shot in February, before Pahalgam attack, when Pakani artes were legally allowed to work on Indian projects.
Recently, FWICE told India Today that they had “allowed” Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, who is the producer of Border 2, to finish their shoot with Diljit as they had already shot major parts of the film with him. Bhushan also assured that he would not be working in Diljit in future. Ashoke Pandit, who is the the president of the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association, also spoke to the publication and said that the ban on Diljit has only been lifted for Border 2. “Our non-cooperation against Diljit continues so anybody else works with him in another film, then he should be ready for facing huge losses. The federation will not bow down and the federation will not be responsible for the heavy losses suffered that producer. It’s a call we have taken in good sense and for welfare of he industry. There is no Pakani actor in the film and then the film is based on security forces, so all these things are considered the federation,” he said.
