IPL 2023: Arjun Tendulkar has inherited Sachin Tendulkar’s temperament, says Sunil Gavaskar

Arjun, in his second IPL match, picked up his maiden IPL wicket and bowled a brilliant 20th over in extreme pressure as Mumbai Indians defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad 14 runs for their third straight win on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the latest to laud the debutante is legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar who compared Arjun to Sachin Tendulkar and said that he is a thinking cricketer.
“Everybody talks about the amazing talent Sachin Tendulkar had at the start of his career. But it was his temperament that was absolutely amazing, and Arjun seems to have inherited that,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports.
Playing his second IPL game, Tendulkar again bowled two overs with the new ball before returning to bowl the high-pressure final over with the Sunrisers needing 20 runs.

He seems to be a shrewd thinker as well. It’s always a good sign when a youngster is bowling the final over for the team and delivering,” added Gavaskar.
Earlier on Tuesday, when asked about whether he talks cricket with his father, Sachin, and what sort of advice the legendary Indian batter gives, the junior Tendulkar said, “We (Sachin Tendulkar and him) talk about cricket, we discuss tactics before the game and he tells me to back what I practise every game. I just focused on my release, bowling good lengths and lines upfront. If it swings, it’s a bonus, if it doesn’t, so be it.”
