IPL 2023: RCB’s Mohammed Siraj and Dinesh Karthik collide trying to take MI skipper Rohit Sharma’s catch
Royal Challengers bowler Mohammed Siraj and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik collided head on with each other in an attempt to take Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma’s catch in their Indian premier League encounter on Sunday.
Rohit had gone for a pull but he ended up getting a top edge and as the ball went up in the air, Siraj and Karthik both ran towards it take the catch. Both did not see each other and crashed into each other as the ball dropped safely giving a reprieve to Rohit.
After both Siraj and Karthik dragged back to their feet, Karthik seemed to gesture that he had called for the catch. Siraj replied that he didn’t hear any. Perhaps, his cry for catch was lost in the deafening noise in the crowd.

Rohit would not survive for long as he edged a delivery in the next over Akash Deep only for Karthik to take the catch behind.
As of writing, Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera were holding fort for MI after they lost Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav cheaply.
Earlier, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl against MI. Apart from skipper du Plessis, Michael Bracewell, Glenn Maxwell and Reece Topley are the other foreign players in RCB’s playing XI.
For MI, Tim David, Cameron Green, Jofra Archer and Jason Behrendorff are the overseas players in the playing XI.
