IPL 2024 tickets update: The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will start from Friday with a clash between heavyweights Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The clash brings two former India captains face to face: CSK is led Mahendra Singh Dhoni while Virat Kohli will turn out for RCB.
As expected, there has been a massive demand for tickets for the opener, with even Indian cricket star Ravichandran Ashwin tweeting about it. The spinner, who is a Chennai resident, tagged the CSK franchise in a tweet requesting them to help. “Unreal ticket demand for the #CSKvRCB #IPL2024 opener at Chepauk. My kids want to the see opening ceremony and the game. @ChennaiIPL pls help,” he posted.

In case you’re still looking to buy tickets, tickets went on sale at 9:30 am on Monday (March 18) on Paytm insider. But what needs to be noted is that in the online sale, two IPL tickets will be issued per person.

Do you need physical ticket copies to enter the stadium?
E-tickets will be allowed for entry into the stadium and fans don’t need to carry physical copies. A press release from CSK said: “Patrons buying online tickets will be allowed entry scanning e-tickets with barcode/QR code at the gate. Patrons will be denied entry if scanners find them to be duplicate.”

Car park and two-wheeler parking are available at:

b. PWD – opposite to V Pattabiraman Gate on Wallajah road
c. Madras University Campus

f. Victoria Hostel
It must be noted that Chennai Super Kings and TNCA encourages patrons to use public transport during match days due to limited parking inside the periphery of the M A Chidambaram Stadium.
What do fans need to keep in mind while going for CSK vs RCB game
Fans travelling to the Chepauk Stadium for the CSK vs RCB game must note that tickets do not allow re-entry. So they cannot come back into the stadium once they have exited, even if it is in the middle of the match.
It must be noted that the MA Chidambaram Stadium is a plastic-free zone and no plastic bags or any other plasticrelated items will be allowed inside the premises. MA Chidambaram Stadium is also a no-tobacco zone. Cigarettes, beedi, gutka, pan masala or any other tobacco items will not be allowed inside the premises.
Do fans need to carry water bottles and food for CSB vs RCB?
A press release from CSK noted that “RO-treated free drinking water facility is available for public in all stands.”
However, outside food or beverages will not be allowed inside the stadium.
What time will gates open for CSK vs RCB?
Entry gates at the MA Chidambaram Stadium will be opened at 4.30 pm for the inaugural IPL 2024 game between CSK and RCB on 22nd of March.
Can fans on wheelchairs travel to the MA Chidambaram Stadium?
CSK and TNCA said in a release that they have identified limited seats in I lower stand for physically challenged patrons requiring Wheelchair to access the stadium. These seats will only be reserved for physically challenged patrons.”

Vettori bowled at an economy of 6.56 in his IPL career so far. He is followed fellow RCB bowler and Indian legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble. The bowler has bowled at an economy of 6.58 in his IPL career and is among one of the best middle-over bowlers in the hory of the tournament.

Australian legend and Delhi Capitals player Glenn McGrath has bowled at an economy of 6.61 in his 14-match career. He is followed modern T20 maestro leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who goes at just 6.67 in his spells.

Coming to last season in 2023, Punjab Kings all-rounder Mathew Short has been sensational with his economy. He has been able to bowl his overs at 6.25. Delhi Capitals’ Pravin Dubey too has been miserly in three overs going at just 6.33. Gujarat Titans off-spinner who played just one game for them last season bowled at 6.50. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Glenn Phillips too has been tidy going at 6.66.
