IPL KKR Team 2025 Players L: Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will feel they are hard done the auctions having to release several of their key players of their IPL 2024 winning squad. With KKR releasing captain Shreyas Iyer and pacer Mitchell Starc who they had bought in the previous auction for a whopping Rs 24.75 crore, the franchise lost 2 of their key personnel who helped them win the IPL for the 3rd time.

However, they have managed to keep their core intact, using up all their 6 retentions with Rinku Singh (Rs 13 crore) being the costliest. They also retained veteran soldiers Andre Russell and Sunil Narine for Rs 12 crore each as well as spinner Varun Chakravarthy (Rs 12 crore) Ramandeep Singh (Rs 4 crore) and Harshit Rana (Rs 4 crore). They do not have any Right To Match options left and will go into the auctions with a Rs 51 crore purse with which they might look to bring in Ishan Kishan, Jos Buttler or go again for Starc.
