Aged 13 years, 243 days, Suryavanshi became the youngest player in IPL hory as he cut a bidding war between the Royals and Delhi Capitals.
Only on Saturday did young Suryavanshi make his Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy debut, opening for Bihar against Rajasthan in Rajkot. He cracked left-arm pacer Aniket Choudhary for two sixes before being dismissed for 13 off six deliveries.
The youngster made headlines recently when he became the youngest batter (13 years, 288 days) to record an international century, achieving the feat in a Youth Test for India Under-19 against Australia U-19 in Chennai. Vaibhav scored 104 off 62 balls in India Under-19’s Youth Test against Australia in Chennai. The left-hander’s century came in 58 balls, making it the fastest Youth Test hundred an Indian and the second-fastest overall in the world.

Suryavanshi first made the headlines earlier this year when he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Bihar, aged 12, making him one of the youngest ever to play in India’s premier First-Class tournament.
Born to a cricket tragic father, Sanjeev Suryawanshi, whose aspirations to make it big in the sport when living in Mumbai never took off, Vaibhav is now living the life that his father couldn’t. Be it when working as a bouncer in a night club or at a Sulabh toilet or the port in Mumbai, watching young kids play cricket in maidaans, Sanjeev had only one dream – that one of his kids would become a cricketer.
