Nurses doing noble, commendable service: CM

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has lauded the nurses of the state for putting in hard work with dedication and thus serving Covid-19 patients, day and night.

Interacting with the nurses on Wednesday late evening through video conferencing, the Chief Minister extended his hearties wishes and greetings to them on the occasion of the International Nurses Day.

He said the courage and compassion with which the nurses have served humanity under these challenging circumstances is simply commendable.

He pointed out that although many nurses and their family members were infected, and some even lost their family members, they continued to serve the patients in some way or the other. This is a live example of excellent service and dedication.

In the online interaction, the Chief Minister heard the experiences of the nurses.

He was moved to tears after listening to Varsha Gondane, a nurse at the Community Health Centre Palari in Balodabazar who has lost her family members to the pandemic but continued to serve patients despite her personal tragedy.

She said that her mother-in-law and sister-in-law passed away due to Covid infection. She and her two children were infected too but now they have recovered.

Baghel said that no words would be enough to appreciate the way she fulfilled her duties and responsibilities despite her personal loss.

The Chief Minister congratulated the nurse sisters for their outstanding services. He said the doctor is often called God incarnate, “but our nurse sisters have been no less than ‘goddesses’ during this time of crisis”.
