‘Is that Hrithik as Camilla?’: Netizens have hilarious reactions to King Charles’ ‘Dhoom Machale’ entry in London

Mar 28, 2025 01:16 PM King Charles and a Bollywood crossover? The internet is of course having a field day King Charles, 76, is currently contending with some “temporary” side-effects of his cancer treatment. The King required hospital observation on Thursday. The impact on health feels more serious this time around, seeing as his scheduled cancer treatment for Thursday morning was actually extended to accommodate hospital observation. A statement from their spokesperson shared, “His majesty has now returned to Clarence House and as a precautionary measure, acting on medical advice, tomorrow’s diary programme will also be rescheduled”. King Charles’ ‘Dhoom Machale’ welcome has the internet throwing it back to Hrithik Roshan’s Dhoom era The monarch was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer back in February 2024. He however, had resumed his public-facing duties April, whilst undergoing weekly treatment simultaneously. Speaking of his duties, there was a very heavy hand of Indian-ness for his entry to the the annual Commonwealth Day Service of Celebration at Westminster Abbey, in London earlier this month, a clip of which has resurfaced on the internet. It shows King Charles followed Queen consort Camilla entering the hallowed premises to…well, the unmissable tune of Dhoom Machale from the Bollywood blockbuster franchise Dhoom. This was courtesy of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band, a Hindu Scottish pipe band who very seamlessly managed to create a very interesting cross-cultural moment. Now while identifying the tune of course thrilled Indians the world over, you can never shirk the internet’s passion for acting crazy. And this is where Hrithik Roshan comes in. Hrithik led the second installment of the Dhoom franchise, Dhoom 2 (2006) as the anti-hero — a very skillful thief who ends up falling in love with his honey trap. His modus operandi for theft — which was dressing up as unrecognisable people (and even objects!) in plain sight — is what made the role and movie so memorable. Well, part of his l of getups was Hrithik, dressed as the Queen. Now while Hrithik had been cosplaying as Queen Elizabeth, the truly striking similarity between him and Queen consort Camilla, cannot be ignored. The fact that Hrithik wore pink for the scene, the very colour worn Camilla as she accompanied King Charles to the Westminer Abbey, just makes the whole pun airtight. Comment sections were of course, overflowing with the comparisons and jokes: “Is that Hrithik as Camilla?”, “Hritik as Buddhi Queen ”, “Hritik bhai getting our Kohinoor back
”, “charles ke peeche hrithik hai pink mein”, “Someone said Hritik Slaying in pink
’ — and the mic drop: “Great now give us back the big stone.
”. Coming back to King Charles’ health, we wish him a speedy recovery. News / HTCity / Cinema / ‘Is that Hrithik as Camilla?’: Netizens have hilarious reactions to King Charles’ ‘Dhoom Machale’ entry in London See Less
