Ishan Kishan falls for golden duck against Lucknow after scoring century

Ishan Kishan, after scoring a blering 45-ball century against Rajasthan Royals in his debut game for Sunrisers Hyderabad, failed to open his account against Lucknow Super Giants and fell for a golden duck at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Kishan, who played his first match for the Hyderabad franchise earlier on Sunday struck a fine century, helping his team post 286 at the same venue here, which is the second-highest-ever score in IPL hory. SRH ultimately won 44 runs against RR.
On Thursday, however, the left-hander was unable to impress, getting strangled down the leg-side Shardul Thakur while playing his very first delivery. Shardul dismissed Kishan for his second wicket in as many balls. Earlier, he removed opener Abhishek Sharma who holed out to Nicholas Pooran while trying to pull the short ball in the previous delivery.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, the new batter in at number four, survived the hat-trick ball to deny Shardul three wickets in three deliveries.
Kishan was released Mumbai Indians ahead of the mega auction in 2024. 107 against RR was Kishan’s maiden IPL hundred. The left-hander made his IPL debut in 2016 for Gujarat Lions before being roped in Mumbai for 6.20 crore in 2018. Five-time IPL champion MI retained the Jharkhand batter for a whopping sum of 15.25 cr in 2022 before releasing him in 2024.
