It is going to be Rajasthan Royals’ year, they will be lifting the trophy: Michael Vaughan picks IPL 2022 runner ups as favorites for 2023

With IPL 2023 just around the corner, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has picked the team he thinks will go all the way in the 16th edition of the tournament.
Taking to social media, the 48-year-old expressed his excitement for the beginning of a new IPL season. Additionally, he said that the Rajasthan Royals (RR), who finished second last year, will cross the final hurdle this season to win the trophy for a second time.
“I think it’s going to be @rajasthanroyals year .. they will be lifting the trophy in late May,” Vaughan wrote on his Twitter.

Last year, the Royals came close but finished as second best to the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in the final.
With 863 runs in 17 innings, Buttler finished the season as the leading run scorer. RR’s revamped bowling lineup of Trent Boult, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Prasidh Krishna were pivotal to their success as well.
Back in 2008, the Royals had won the inaugural edition of the tournament under the leadership of Shane Warne. The squad also featured the likes of Graeme Smith, Shane Watson, Sohail Tanvir and Yusuf Pathan on their way to overcoming MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings on the last ball in the summit clash.

Led Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan Royals will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2 in their first match of the tournament.
