‘It was very Un-Kohli like’: Brett Lee on Virat Kohli’s dismissals in Border Gavaskar Trophy | Cricket News

Former Australia pacer Brett Lee said that Virat Kohli’s dismissals in the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy were very “Un-Kohli-like.”
Kohli has been singled out experts for the manner in which he has managed to get dismissed in most of his innings: edging balls outside off stump.
“For me, it was very Un-Kohli like. You obviously get batsmen nick off occasionally or they’ll do something and they’ll make those differences in their actions and techniques but the thing with Virat Kohli, unfortunately for him, he kept getting out the same way through the whole Test series. I think back to Perth, the second innings where he made a magnificent 100 and I thought okay, he’s in going himself in the first innings nicked off but now he’s back to his best,” Lee said on his YouTube channel.

“But after that, he was very slim pickings for Virat Kohli. I also think Australia had a very valid bowling plan to him, they researched him very very well. I think their preparation was very outstanding but unfortunately for Virat Kohli, he missed out other than one innings in Perth,” he added.
Kohli had a torrid time in the Border Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia where he scored just 190 runs in 5 matches.

He also grabbed headlines in the 4th Test when he had an on-field issue with Australia’s Sam Konstas when both players had run into each other on the field. He also had a brief stare down with the Melbourne crowd who jeered him after his dismissal in the Test.
