Jaat box office collection day 13: Film surpasses Gadar’s collection

Jaat box office collection day 13: After Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan became a runaway hit in 2023, several other Bollywood stars decided to adopt South Indian storytelling sensibilities in their next projects. But it seems like Sunny Deol’s Jaat is the only hit Hindi film to emerge out of this wave. Jaat has performed much better than Varun Dhawan’s Ba John and Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which were also attempts to recreate the Jawan magic. The action thriller has earned Rs 2 crore on its second Tuesday, despite it being a working day, taking the film’s total India collection to Rs 78.25 crore.
Comparatively, the film earned seven times more than what Salman Khan’s Sikandar earned on its 13th day. Despite, having a massive following, Salman Khan’s film earned just Rs 30 lakh on its 13th day in theatres.
However, Jaat witnessed an overall occupancy of 15.68% with about 24.52% people turning up for the night shows. While the film is undoubtedly doing better than a lot of recent releases, it too has seen a massive drop in the number of shows screened across the country. The film, which had over 5585 shows on its first day of release, has now seen its theatrecount reduced down to 2351. A drop of nearly 3300 shows have been witnessed in the past few days.

The film, directed Gopichand Malineni, also stars Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Vineet Kumar Singh, Jagapathi Babu, Zarina Wahab and Ramya Krishnan, among others. Jaat opened at Rs 9.5 crore, and earned a total of Rs 40.25 crore India nett in its opening weekend. The film also passed its Monday test earning Rs 7.25 crore.
While Jaat has been doing significantly better than Salman Khan’s Sikandar, it has also become the second-highest earner of Sunny Deol’s career. With a total collection of Rs 78.25 crore, Jaat has surpassed the lifetime earning of the actor’s iconic film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2000), which earned Rs 76.65 crore.
