Jagga Jasoos box office collections: Katrina, Ranbir starrer earns Rs 56.27 cr worldwide

Jagga Jasoos box office collections: Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif-starrer Jagga Jasoos is going steady at the box office after a slower-than-expected start. The film raked in 33.17 Cr in the opening weekend and on Monday it earned additional 4.05 Cr making it a total of 37.22 Cr in India alone, Bollywood Hungama reported. After adding take from foreign markets, the film collected a total of Rs 56.27 Cr with second highest collection in USA and Canada i.e. Rs 3.11 Cr. The Ranbir and Katrina starrer has not managed to make the kind of impression at the box office it was expected to.
Ranbir Kapoor had earlier said he will compensate the distributors if the film does not fare well at the box office, as per India Today. However, critics praised the director’s attempt at making the movie in a genre that is rarely seen in Bollywood. Film critic Raja Sen, in his review for NDTV, gave Jagga Jasoos four stars out of five. Sen wrote,”Ranbir Kapoor charms as a hero all children should have. Jagga Jasoos is a dazzling, inventive and deliciously fun film, a musical mystery fable that curious children (of all ages) should watch at the soonest.”
The film features Ranbir as Jagga, a detective while his accomplice Katrina Kaif was cast as Shruti Sengupta, who played a role of a journalist. The role of Jagga’s father was done by well known Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee. The film, Jagga Jasoos, is the third film where Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are working together. Earlier, they acted in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rajneeti.
