Jaideep Ahlawat would eat 40 rotis, drink 1.5 litres milk in a day till age 28, weight never crossed 70 kgs: ‘I still eat a home-cooked meal after a party’ | Bollywood News

Jaideep Ahlawat grew up in Haryana and then moved to Pune for an acting course at FTII, and in all these years, Jaideep was never conscious about his calorie count. He shared in a recent interview, that until 2008, when he was about 28 years old, his weight never crossed 70 kgs even though he would eat 40 rotis in a day. He also said that while growing up in his village in Haryana, he would have at least one and a half litre milk every day.
Talking on Khaane Mein Kaun Hai’s YouTube channel, Jaideep shared, “Until 2008, my weight never crossed 70 kgs, even though I am so tall. And I used to eat at least 40 rotis in a day because you are eating and burning it all.” He said that after a certain age, one’s body and metabolism starts taking a hit but until then, they should eat as much as they want and live an active lifestyle.
He shared that to date, he likes to eat a home-cooked meal and even after parties, he comes back home for dinner. “I have been in Mumbai for 15-16 years now and I still like eating at home. Even when I go for parties, I come back home and eat my home-cooked food. I feel incomplete if I am not eating at home,” he said. When asked how he manages when he is traveling abroad, Jaideep said that he will eat whatever is available, and when he can’t find Indian food, he likes to indulge in Lebanese food.

Jaideep also opened up about his childhood and shared that he would skip lunch, and eat from the farms during the day. “Till the time I stayed in my village, till then we had a very basic structure for food. In the morning, we would have chane or bajre ki roti, or missi roti with lassi, butter, chutney. Just that. And we would have dinner after that. Lunch was prepared but the idea was that in case someone is hungry they can have it, but this wasn’t a thing,” he said.
Jaideep said that after school, they would walk around in the fields and would eat whatever was available – sugarcane, carrot, guava, or any other kind of fruit or vegetable. He added, “Milk was essential part of my life. Half a liter at least thrice a day. During those years when we were growing up, we weren’t allowed to have milk in a glass. Either have it in a lota or jug. And this was very common.”
