After stunning in a blush pink Tarun Tahiliani couture outfit at her Cannes debut, Janhvi Kapoor’s second look from the film festival is out. While her first appearance was a tribute to her mother, the late actor Sridevi, Janhvi’s second outfit pays homage to India’s rich cultural heritage and traditional jewellery. The actor wore a custom-made Anamika Khanna ensemble for the official premiere screening of her film Homebound at Cannes.
The look featured a backless mint green gown with a long, flowing trail. The upper part of the high-neckline gown was adorned with antique gold embroidery, giving it a regal look with a modern edge. Janhvi accessorised the look with a curated blend of archival traditional Indian jewellery paired with custom jade and jadau pieces, which lent the attire a vintage charm. She wore her hair in a sleek bun and completed the look with traditional earrings.
Rhea Kapoor shared photos of Janhvi’s look and wrote, “For the Official Premiere Screening of Homebound this morning in Cannes. @janhvikapoor wears custom @anamikakhanna.in couture. She wears a mix of archival traditional Indian jewels mixed with custom jade and jadau creations.”
Janhvi made her debut at Cannes on Tuesday. She arrived at the film festival with her Homebound co-stars Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa. The film’s producer Karan Johar and director Neeraj Ghaywan also accompanied them. For her debut appearance, the actor wore a Tarun Tahiliani couture outfit that was handcrafted all the way from Banaras. Fans believed that the traditional lehenga with a ghoonghat was Janhvi’s way of paying tribute to her mother Sridevi, while also staying true to her Indian roots.
