Jay-Z, Diddy accused of sexually assaulting 13-year-old in 2000; rappers deny allegations | Hollywood News

American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs is battling allegations of rape, sex trafficking and racketeering. A civil lawsuit against Diddy, filed a ‘Jane Doe’, alleging sexual assault and rape in 2000 when she was 13, was refiled on Sunday with the inclusion of rapper Jay-Z, aka Shawn Carter. Jay-Z has categorically denied these allegations in a post shared on his Roc Nation’s X page.
In the lawsuit, filed Tony Buzbee, the counsel for ‘Jane Doe’, she alleged that she felt light-headed after she had a drink at a house where celebrities were indulging in drugs. It was also said that Diddy and Jay-Z entered the room where she was resting, and took turns to rape her. The lawsuit also claimed that a female friend of the alleged survivor was witness to the assault. In response to the lawsuit, Jay-Z said that it was a ‘blackmail attempt Tony Buzbee.’ Assuring that he would expose the ‘lawyer’ for his fraudulent activities, the rapper wrote, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one! Whoever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?”

Jay-Z called the lawyer an ‘ambulance chaser in a cheap suit.’ He went on to talk about the kind of impact such an allegation would have on his family. “My wife (Beyonce) and I will sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit,” wrote Jay-Z, who extended his support to the ‘true victims.’

Jay-Z reiterated his innocence, and urged that he lives ‘strict codes and honour and protect children.’ “Only your network of conspiracy theors will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable. I look forward to showing you just how different I am,” wrote Jay-Z.
Even before the lawsuit was officially refiled with Jay-Z’s name on it, Buzbee alleged he was sued a ‘high profile’ John Doe, and wrote, “We won’t allow the powerful and their high-dollar lawyers to intimidate or silence sexual assault survivors.” Earlier today, after the contents of the new lawsuit was made public, Buzbee shared a picture of himself as a Marine, and wrote, “Despite a coordinated and aggressive effort that has included harassing my kids, contacting my clients and former clients to encourage them to sue me, contacting my colleagues or former employees asking if I’ve ‘abused’ them, showing up at my current employees’ homes to harass them, filing frivolous cases against me and my law firm, defaming me with outrageous assertions to anyone who will len, and having mysterious people follow me and my family, I’m still THAT guy. I won’t be bullied or intimidated. People will see through this effort to discredit me and my clients and the truth will be revealed. I also won’t allow anyone to scare my clients into silence.”

Jay-Z is married to Beyonce; they are parents to three children – 12-year-old Blue Ivy Carter and seven-year-old twin children, Rumi and Sir. Meanwhile, Diddy’s representatives put out a statement that asserted his innocence in the bevy of lawsuits filed against him, including this one. “As his legal team has said before, Mr Combs has full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone – man or woman, adult or minor.”
