Jofra Archer in line to play World Cup in India | Cricket News
With just 70 days to go for the World Cup, defending champions England have received a massive boost that is bound to bring smiles to their supporters. England’s former assant coach Paul Farbrace, who is now the head coach at Sussex has revealed that fast bowler Jofra Archer is recovering well from injury and is in line to make the World Cup cut.
Archer played an instrumental role in England winning their maiden 50-over World Cup at home in 2019, but since then has been battling injuries to his back. Although he made a comeback earlier this year, the injury resurfaced once again and was not included in England’s squad for the ongoing Ashes, which they trail 2-1.
Farbrace has been working closely with Archer at Sussex and speaking to BBC’s Radio Five Live said, “He is going well. I think he is on course for the World Cup, which is fantastic news.
Playing in his first World Cup, Archer picked up 20 wickets and was one of the leading performers with the ball.
