Kapil Sharma to star in sequel of his debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Abbas-Mustan opt out of direction | Bollywood News

Kapil Sharma was last seen on the big screen in Rajesh A Krishnan’s hit he comedy Crew last year as Tabu’s husband. Now, he’s all set to make his return in the sequel of his 2015 debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. Helmed Abbas-Mustan, it was a hit romantic comedy in which Kapil is seen not two-timing or three-timing, but four-timing his four ‘wives’.
On Monday, Kapil shared the poster of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, in which he is once again seen at the altar. Wearing a white sherwani, he removes his floral sehra (headgear) to look into the camera with bewilderment. Standing next to him is his ‘wife,’ wearing a blue lehenga with the face covered the translucent veil. Interestingly, the ‘wife’ is also seen wearing a sehra. Also, the ‘wife’ is seen doing an adab, with Eid Mubarak written at the bottom of the poster, possibly hinting at an interfaith marriage.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared, “KAPIL SHARMA – VENUS – ABBAS-MUSTAN REUNITE: ‘KIS KISKO PYAAR KAROON 2’ FIRST LOOK UNVEILS… #KapilSharma springs a big surprise on #Eid – the #FirstLook of the comedy caper #KisKiskoPyaarKaroon2 is finally here. Abbas-Mustan, who helmed the first part, have decided to step back from direction as the sequel has been helmed Anukalp Goswami, best known as a writer on the first part along with the lead actor’s popular TV comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show. Abbas-Mustan will co-produce the film with Ratan Jain and Ganesh Jain’s Venus Entertainment.
While the leading lady or leading ladies haven’t been named yet, Manjot Singh of Fukrey-fame has joined the sequel’s cast. His Fukrey co-star Varun Sharma played Kapil’s friend in the first part. Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon also starred Eli Avram as Kapil’s girlfriend and Manjari Fadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi, and Sai Lokur as his three ‘wives.’ Sharat Saxena and Supriya Pathak played his parents, while Jamie Lever and Manoj Joshi rounded off the ensemble star cast.
The film revolved around Kapil’s character Shiv Ram Kishan, who ‘marries’ three women without their knowledge after they threaten to die suicide. He tries to spend enough time with all of them, along with his actual girlfriend, while juggling from one floor to another in the very same building. Kapil was a popular TV star before he made his film debut with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon in 2015, which turned out to be a box office success.
He has since appeared in the films Firangi, Nandita Das’ Zwigato, and most recently, Crew. Kapil currently appears in his comedy show The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix India, which recently wrapped up its second season.
