Kartik Aaryan is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film with Sreeleela in Gangtok. The film, which is the third installment in the Aashiqui franchise, is tentatively titled Tu Meri Zindagi Hai. Various behind-the-scenes videos and photos of the Luka Chuppi actor and Sreeleela have surfaced on social media, showing them performing on stage, with Kartik in his rockstar avatar.
One of the clips shows Kartik playing the guitar as the revamped version of the iconic song Tu Meri Zindagi Hai from the original Aashiqui (1990) plays in the background. Kartik is also seen lip-syncing the song, while Sreeleela stands behind him, holding a guitar, hinting that her character is also part of his band. Director Anurag Basu is spotted in the background, holding a microphone and giving cues to the crowd.

Kartik’s look reminded fans of Ranbir Kapoor’s character in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar. A comment was also around the same lines, “It looks like Rockstar & Kabir Singh ka mixture.” One more fan wrote, “Sorry but this just looks like a budget Ranbir Kapoor movie.”
Several videos of Kartik getting mobbed fans during the Gangtok shoot have also gone viral on social media. In the clips, the actor is seen making his way through a sea of fans, while police officers attempt to control the crowd and provide him with a safe passage.
The original Aashiqui, released in 1990, was directed Mahesh Bhatt and starred Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal in the lead roles. It was a major hit. Its sequel, Aashiqui 2, released in 2013, starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, and was directed Mohit Suri. The film became a massive success. Now, Anurag Basu is helming the third installment. However, in an earlier interaction, Basu clarified that the film will not be titled Aashiqui 3.
