‘Kashmiri audience is happy to be entertained Dhurandhar, even if it is propaganda,’ says Omar Abdullah | Bollywood News

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has divided the audience as many are seeing it as a propaganda film. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah, was asked about his opinion on films with “hypernationalism” like The Kashmir Files and Dhurandhar. While Omar said that he hasn’t seen either of these films, he said that the audience in Kashmir was watching Dhurandhar in huge numbers, despite this being a propaganda film.
Omar was talking at the Express Adda when he said, “I haven’t seen either (The Kashmir Files, Dhurandhar) and truth be told, I don’t intend to see either of them. That said, I must be honest, the first movie (The Kashmir Files) didn’t do very well in the Valley, but the second one (Dhurandhar), and I won’t pronounce it because I will struggle with the name, but the second one seems to be doing roaring business.”
He then pointed out to the multiplex owner from Kashmir sitting in the audience and added, “I spot Vijay Dhar saab in the audience. He has the only multiplex in the valley and he is nodding away saying that his box office is doing great with this second movie so clearly, the audience in Kashmir, even if it is a propaganda movie, is quite happy to be entertained it.” The film is going housefull in the capital as well as smaller cities in the Valley such as Pulwama and Shopian.
