Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian texted and thanked me for their wardrobe after Ambani wedding, says Manish Malhotra: ‘They were so professional, involved’ | Bollywood News

Manish Malhotra was one of the key architects of the aesthetic of the Ambani wedding last year. He was one of Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani’s key collaborators on ensuring the wedding of her son Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant made waves globally. In a recent interview, Manish spoke about designing the wedding outfits for American reality stars Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian.
In the interview with BBC Asian Network, Manish Malhotra said, “My god, they were fantastic! They were so professional. They landed and came straight to the fittings. They were so involved in what they were wearing, concerned about the fit. I actually love people who are serious about what they’re wearing because I’m so attached to clothes.”
The fashion designer continued, “It was a great experience working with them. Really wonderful for them to text me once they landed back in America to say, ‘Thank you, it was wonderful.’”

For the wedding, the Kardashian sers wore custom-made Manish Malhotra ensembles: while Kim Kardashian was draped in a glittering red saree, Khloe Kardashian had donned an ivory-gold saree with heavy embellishments.
On the eve of the wedding, Khloe also opted for a  custom-made rani pink lehenga choli created Manish, while her ser Kim wore a custom-made stylised and embroidered dusty rose sheer saree designer Tarun Tahiliani. They even featured the Ambani wedding on their popular reality TV show The Kardashians.
From their arrival, warm welcome at a luxury hotel, an auto rickshaw ride to decorations at the wedding venue, both Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian regularly shared glimpses from their first time in India on Instagram. “I can’t believe I get to have this experience with my ser!!! The best memories with my bestie,” Khloe wrote, along with a picture with Kim, right before flying back.
Kim also uploaded a video clip of Nita Ambani welcoming her and Khloe into the wedding hall. She also shared a selfie with actor Aishwarya Rai from the blessing ceremony of the newlyweds. “Queen @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb,” she captioned the post on her Instagram Stories.Story continues below this ad

Meanwhile, Manish Malhotra lauded Nita Ambani for paying attention to detail while designing the wedding festivities. “It was Mrs Ambani who led this. We worked with her, on her vision. We were involved with every aspect, when it came to the hotels in Jamnagar, from the uniforms to the cutlery to the digital invites. I’ve never seen a mother who is so involved, and so concerned about every guest, and the experience that the guests will have,” said Manish in the interview.
“The chairs at the wedding all had pockets in the back, with water bottles and a wet towel. God is in the details. There were singers who sing cultural songs, there were maestros. There’s a lot of respect given her to arts and culture. It was the whole world coming together,” he added.
