In a rain-curtailed 16-overs contest, it was KKR who ran away with the win, on the back of a disciplined bowling performance that stifled MI. Kolkata officially became the first team to qualify for the play-offs.Chasing a tricky total, Mumbai started on a steady note with both Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan finding the ropes thrice in the first 2 overs. Skipper Hardik Pandya fell to Chakravarthy for just 2 as his nightmare season continued before Russel sent back Tim David for a duck as MI’s innings imploded. Naman Dhir and Varma almost gave KKR a late scare but Harshit Rana snapped both to hand the hosts the win 18 runs.
Rare failure for the KKR openers

Middle order steps up
Venkatesh Iyer steadied the innings, smashing Bumrah for two fours and a six.
