The Kolkata Knight Riders finished on top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table in the IPL 2024 season to return to the Playoffs for the first time since 2021.
KKR’s dominating run in the season enabled them to finish on top of the league-stage standings for the first time in 17 editions. The ongoing season will be the eighth season where the Knight Riders have qualified for the playoffs/knockout stages of the tournament.

KKR last featured in an IPL playoff match against the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2021 final where they suffered a 27-run loss.
KKR finished the group stage with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +1.428 — the highest-ever for any team in a season. They will take on second-ranked Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 1 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21, Tuesday.
